Rafael was born February 25, 1938 in Jalpa Zacatecas, Mexico. Born to Jesus Romo and Dolores Diaz the eldest of his ten siblings. Guadalupe, Francisco, Jesus, Emilio, Manuel, Margarita, Noe, Maria Luisa, Salvador and Rosa.

Father of seven, his children Maria, Armando, Roberto, Adan, Eva, Rafael II and Flora.

Proud Grandfather of twenty-eight and Great Grandfather of twenty-five.

Companion of Guadalupe Rios and her children Concepcion, Arthuro and Nora.

He came to Apple Valley, California in the 1960’s in search of work to support his family back in Mexico. They followed shortly after in the 1970’s.

He worked several jobs in the High Desert eventually retiring from the concrete industry in the 1990’s.

He was an amazing father, raising his children on his own with support from his family.

He had many friends and acquaintances whom will miss him dearly. Known for his kindness and generosity.

Although not all his family lived nearby he was always there for them in one way or another usually putting everyone else's needs before his own.

He enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. .
