

Alma L. Nails “Pops” age 86 passed away on January 14, 2026 in Arlington, Texas. He was born on March 20, 1939 in Camden, Arkansas to Nora and Lynn Nails. Al was raised in Oakland, California. He graduated from Berkeley High in 1956, and went on to serve in the Army for two years.
He married the love of his life, Joyce in 1962 and the couple had five sons together. He was a welder and foreman at General Motors where he worked for more than 31 years.
In his spare time Al enjoyed playing cards, driving his Corvette, working on cars and racing them. He also loved lawncare. His friends and family will always remember him as a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated employee.
Al was preceded in death by his mother and father Nora and Lynn Nails, brother Odell Nails, brother Marvin Cockrell, and sister Marilyn Powell.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, his sons Reginald, Gerald (Trina), Eric (Karla) Allen, and Tyrone (Teresa). His sister Noreen Wood Fork. Nine Grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. And a host of family and loved ones.
A great accomplishment of Alma’s was that to all of his son’s friends, he was known as “Pops”
