Carol (Bellomy) Wallis, age 78, passed away peacefully in Austin, Texas on November 3rd, 2023, at 10:56 am surrounded by her family after bravely facing Alzheimer's. Born on January 8, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Berry Bellomy and Mollie (Wood) Bellomy, Carol grew up in Arlington, Texas, and graduated from Arlington High School in 1963.
Carol is survived by her beloved children and their families: Margaret Phillips and her husband Mike of Euless, TX, and Matt Wallis and his wife Ashley of Austin, TX. Her grandchildren, Virginia King, Katie (Phillips) Nuncio (husband Angel), Evryn Wallis, and Landry Wallis, as well as her great-grandchildren Nolan Nuncio and Lily Nuncio, brought her great joy. She is also survived by her sisters: Mary Wilkinson (husband John), Marge Harper (husband Wayne), and Jan Bowers (husband Jack), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carol was extremely proud of her family, and was a devoted mother to her children, and a cherished Nannie to her grandchildren.
During her professional career, Carol worked as a bookkeeper for Powers Construction Company for nearly 20 years and Kevco Electric for almost a decade. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, reading, attending her son Matt's basketball games, and spending time with her family and friends.
Having resided in Arlington for most of her life, Carol took immense pride in being a second-generation graduate of Arlington High School. She remained an active lifetime member of the Arlington High School Alumni Association, and derived great pleasure from organizing reunions for the class of 1963. Carol maintained strong connections with her childhood friends and eagerly anticipated reunions and various gatherings.
Carol’s family and friends will fondly remember her as an honest, loyal, and dependable person.
As Margaret and Matt informed friends and family of her passing, it became evident that Carol was known for supporting her loved ones, especially during times of sickness or crisis. While her friends and family will dearly miss her unwavering devotion, they will find solace in knowing that Carol is now free from the burdens of Alzheimer's.
May fond memories of Carol bring comfort to all those whose lives she touched.
