Carolyn Ann (Woods) Henken, 77, of Burleson, Texas, passed away on February 20, 2026. Born on May 10, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, Carolyn’s life was defined by love — steady, fierce, and unconditional.
Carolyn was born and raised on the southside of Fort Worth and graduated Pascal High School in 1966. Carolyn devoted her early years to raising her family as a homemaker, building a house that felt like home in every sense of the word. Later, she served as Corporate Secretary and Bookkeeper for W. H. Henken Industries, Inc., supporting the family business with the same dedication and integrity she brought to everything she did. She believed in taking care of her people — and she did that without hesitation.
Her love showed up in the simple things: sitting close during a movie, reading alongside a child curled up next to her, cooking for a full table during the holidays, making sure everyone felt seen and cared for. She didn’t need grand gestures. She built a lifetime of impact through consistency, kindness, and presence.
Carolyn’s legacy lives in the generations that follow her — in the strength of her sons, the laughter of her grandchildren, and the growing branches of a family she nurtured with unwavering devotion. She gave her family roots and wings, and she gave them love that will not fade.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, W. H. “Bill” Henken II; her mother, Grace Bee (Shaw) Woods; her father, Hillard Asberry Woods; and her three sisters, Melba Jean Rorick, Gwendelan Latrell Porter, and Colleen Sellers. The love she shared with her husband was a partnership that lasted nearly six decades — a testament to loyalty, commitment, and devotion that anchored their entire family.
She is survived by her three sons: Scott Henken and his wife Missy of Haslet, Texas; Bryan Henken; and Darren Henken and his wife Shelly of Burleson, Texas. She also leaves behind her Godson, Justin Harlin and his wife Beth of Fort Worth, Texas.
Her grandchildren — Brandon, Robert, Harrison, and Whitney — and her great-grandchildren — Annie, Jett, Rush, Maddox “MadMan”, Mia, Annalicia, Santana, and Shayden — along with her great-great-grandchild, Izaiah, were the light of her life. Being Granny wasn’t just a title; it was her greatest joy and proudest role. She poured herself into every birthday, every holiday, every school event, every quiet afternoon movie, every bedtime story. If the kids were there, that’s where she wanted to be.
She was known to many as Carolyn, but to those who mattered most, she was simply Granny.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Moore Memorial Gardens Chapel, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012, followed immediately by a committal service.
She was deeply loved. She will be deeply missed. And she will always be Granny!
