

Charles was born January 27, 1944 in Kyrock, Kentucky to Julius and Lonis Cardwell. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963 and served honorably for 6 years. After he was discharged, Charles worked Civil Service for 30 years at Moffett Field Naval Air Station in California. He then spent 21 years working for Arlington Physicians.
He married the love of his life, Teresa Zamora, in 1965 and they spent 55 happy years together. In his spare time, Charles liked to hunt, fish, and enjoy the great outdoors. But his greatest passion in life was his family, especially his granddaughters.
Charles was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Lonis Cardwell; brother, Neil Cardwell; and grandson, Benjamin Charles Spurlock.
Survivors: loving wife of 55 years, Teresa Cardwell; daughters, Shirley Bullock and husband, Daron, and Julie Cardwell; granddaughters, Alexandra Grant and Megan Bullock; siblings, Madge Lashley, Peggy Johnson, Carolyn Eilers, and Regina Billings and husband, Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 3/9/21, at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, TX 76012. An inurnment will take place at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, 3/9/21, at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75211.
