Cheryl Ann Austin

Cheryl Ann Austin passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the age of 63, surrounded by her loving family. Cheryl was born on September 1, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, to Bobby Booker and Jimmie Lois Austin.

She was raised on the South Side of Chicago and graduated from Dr. Martin Luther King High School in 1981. Cheryl was a devoted mother to her four children, who were the center of her life.

In her spare time, Cheryl found joy in being with family and friends. She loved taking photos, listening to R&B music, shopping, and reading the Bible. She was also an avid basketball fan and especially loved cheering for her favorite team, DePaul University. Cheryl held a deep love for her hometown of Chicago.

Cheryl will be fondly remembered by family and friends as “Cheryl the Pearl,” a nickname that perfectly captured her warmth and radiant smile.

She is survived by her four children, Mario Andre Austin, Anthony Ricardo Williams, Taylor Matthew Bledson, and April Rain Austin-Reed; her mother, Jimmie Lois Austin; her sister, Camille Austin-Brooks, and brother-in-law, Robert Brooks; her niece, Tania Gray; her nephew, Robert Lorenzo Brooks Jr.; and a host of uncles, aunts, and many cousins.
