A 1942 graduate of Eaton High School, Eaton, OH, he entered the Army in March 1943 and married Ruthanna Guiller in June 1943. He served in the 34th Division Mortar Squad (Red Bulls) in North Africa, Naples, Monte Cassino, Rome, Anzio, Lake Como and Trieste from September 1943.

He received the good conduct medal and 4 bronze stars and was honorably discharged in November 1945.

He lived in Eaton until 1962 when he was transferred to Portsmouth, OH as assistant loan manager for Commercial Credit Company.

He was promoted to Tyler, TX in 1965 and promoted to branch manager in Arlington, TX in 1973 and retired in 1983.

He is preceded in death by his wife Ruthanna (Guiller) and sister Janice Pitsinger.

Survivors: Sons James (Dallas, TX) and Fred (Hobbs, NM); grandson Alex (Lubbock, TX); brother Darrell Brown (Mansfield, TX); many nieces, nephews and cousins in Tarrant County, TX and Montgomery County, OH.
