Daniel, the year has not been an easy one. We miss you so much! I miss the wonderful surprises you always had in store for us. Dinners and flowers and books but most of all a visit from the most caring and loving person I know. You are truly missed by so many of us. I can't wait to see you again, until then, I am hoping to get over and see you family more. They all have a part of them that remind me of you and I am so blessed to have them in my life. It's been 1yr. now since you've been gone. Not a day goes by that something doesn't remind me of you. My heart will all ways have a piece missing & I will never stop aching to hold my little boy again in my arms & see that smiling face. I've managed to sometimes mask my grief by acting happy, or joking around with people. But the pain is still there. I see all your friends post on Face Book & see how much they love & miss you too. Some have moved on & some are still trying to. You made such a difference in all whose life you touched. I am so proud of your accomplishments & what a fine man you turned out to be. I wish I could call you, as I know a lot of us have had news this year...tell you all the things I'm excited about, the things I got to see in Hawaii....how I got to swim with dolphins....everything. And I miss you so much. my dearest friend, i love you so very much. so many times i've wanted to call you to tell you things, good, bad, or otherwise. i was listening to the song "daniel" by sir elton john, and theres a line that says it simply, but in my heart is so true. it says"oh god how i miss daniel, oh i miss him so much." i miss you often. i miss sharing stories, laughing with you, and at times, even crying with you. if there ever was a true mate to my soul, it is you. you spoke to my heart, and i've never known a truer deeper love. i keep a message you sent to me readily accessible on my phone. "go to sleep jenn..." and so many times i look at that. i may be awake in some sort of peril, some catastrophic idiocy of the day, stressed out, worried, and i swear i can almost hear you...and i follow your advice, and i go to sleep. i have tears running down my face, as i think of what beauty and grace we enjoyed together. life, love, laughter, all in perfect rhythm with each other, though miles away. now i know a part of you lives here in my heart forever. no distance between us. i think of the way you called me sugar. i so loved that. i don't know if i ever told you how much. ive been scared and praying hard lately, often times wandering into thoughts of you, and hoping you'll help god watch over papa too, my tejas angel. and at a point you'd said i'd long rescued your broken soul...your valkyrie...and i think now, you saved mine just the same. i now keep that sane card i sent you in my wallet. it reminds me when i'm not feeling well, that there's a few of you up there in heaven watching over me. a few of you i'll always love and miss, but still, know your live like it was meant to be. complete, unwavering, and beyond what so many others are capable of in entire lifetimes. you're a bright star now, in my heart and in my eyes. i love you forever and ever still, in the way we both understood so well. til next time my friend, i just wanted to let you know how much i've been thinking of you.

It's been 5mos. & 12day's since you moved back home. I have faith you are now in Paradise with all the family & friends who moved on also. We have celebrated your life here with us several times now & will continue to do so. For the short time you were here, you touched many many peoples lives making such a deep impression & significant change in those lives that you will be held in all our hearts forever. People are moving on but still have your love with them. Even though I'm moving on too, I will still miss you terribly, shed a tear often, remember you always, and love you more than words can say. Am looking forward to the day we meet again my son.

It's been 5 mos. & 12 day's since you have been in Paradise waiting with all of our family & friends in peace and happiness. Most of us are moving on to some degree but not without missing you & remembering everything about you. For the short time you were here in this life, you have made a deep significant change for the good in everyone whose life you've touched. We here have celebrated your life many times since you've moved on. I think of you daily, shed a tear often, miss you terrible, love you more than words can say, and wait for the day we will see each other again my son.

Picked up your ashes today. Another time I get to hold you in my arms. I know intellegently & spiritually you aren't here anymore that you are with friend's, family, & our Savior, Jesus Christ. But my earthly heart aches for you. To be able to hold your breathing self, smell you again, see your smiley face, hear your voice again, all those earthly attributes, I miss more than life itself. I know the ache will subside as time goes by. I can't wait till then my son to be able to remember without the hurt. Love you my baby boy.

Daniel, your warm smile and your outgoing spirit will be remembered over anything else at Stream.  I will truly miss the flowers for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day each year. You were such an amazing person and an awesome friend. There is no one else I have met that shined like a beacon of light as you did. You are and always will be in my heart!

I will remember you fondly. Little things, like the time you cut your finger badly on Sheena's back porch while you were cutting up a stick (for some reason). And going trick-or-treating with you. And so many years later when we found each other on facebook you matured into such an amazing man, always finding the bright side of things. I'm trying to follow your advice and look for the bright side now.

Daniel, you were such an amazing, loving and caring man.  I will never forget your service to Dallas Derby Devils and what light you brought into my world.  I am sorry I didn't get to say goodbye, I will carry you with me from now on.  Thank you for touching my life and giving me faith in human kind and the world.

This morning as I held one of your suite jackets in my arms, I found myself breathing in the scent left behind of you. I brought waves of emotion over me to where it was hard to stop crying. I felt I was holding you in my arms again with yours around me. I thought of you when I watched the Cowboys & the Saints play & remember how we use to bet on the Super Bowl every year & you won't be here to loose your bet. lol. Oh by the way the Saints won! YEAAAAAAAAAAA. Son you will be missed & a piece of my heart is missing. But that piece is filled with the knowledge that one day your dad & I will be sealed to you for eternally. Daniel, you were one of the most selfless people I have ever known and I will truly miss spending time with you.  I'll never forget how you would bring the girls flowers every Valentine's day, really brightening their day, just as you did for so many people everyday.  It’s such a tragic loss without your presence.  I love you brother.
