Dorella Markham Bond, age 91, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, in Stephenville, Texas. She was born on Tuesday, September 18, 1934, in Grand Prairie, Texas to William Cay Markham and Dorothy Lillian Turner.
Dorella was raised in Grand Prairie, Texas and attended Grand Prairie High School in 1951. She met and married Sammy Charles Pollock in 1951 and the couple had 1 child. She was an Executive Assistant at Chance Vought/LTV, now known as Lockheed Martin, where she worked for more than 55 years.
In her spare time Dorella enjoyed her many friends, her Friday card group, her church services and activities and in her last days, her caregivers in the nursing home, she knew all of their names (mostly) and all about them and their families. She called her friends, and they visited even though she could no longer walk.
Most importantly, she loved her working years at “The Company” as she called it. Her coworkers and bosses were her friends and have remained so to this day. She had more visitors, mail and phone calls than the nursing home had ever seen. Dorella had an impactful presence anywhere she was and will be dearly missed.
She treated generals and janitors with the same respect. She loved her Lord and prayed for all her friends and family until she passed to glory. She is rejoicing with her sisters today.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a person who “never” met a stranger, she never forgot a birthday (or even your children’s birthdays) She called you baby, sweetie or her favorite term of endearment was "jackass". She loved her family and friends and was pretty bossy to all of them because she knew best and sometimes, she really did.
Dorella is preceded in death by her parents Cay and Lillian Markham, sisters – Billie Kay Schneider, JoAnn Schneider, Dorothy Ballard.
Dorella is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Richard Bostick, granddaughters, Kattie Solano and Krystal Comfort. Great grandchildren Michael Solano, Joshua Comfort, Aurora Schroeder, Gabriel Comfort and Catherine Comfort with a host of nieces and nephews, with many faithful friends and loved ones. Her “across the street sister” Betty Lou Saye and her brother-in-law Melvin Schneider.
A visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home, located at 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012, on December 20, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location beginning at 1:00 PM.
