Dorothy Dale Anders

Dorothy Horne Anders, 86, Left this earthly home on July 29, 2025, in McKinney, Texas. She was born on September 13, 1938, in Alba, Texas to Essie Ellen McGahee and Henry Patrick Horne. Dorothy was raised in Dallas where she attended and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1958. She married the love of her life Ferrell Eugene Anders Sr. in 1956, and the couple had two wonderful children together.

Dorothy was a Private Investigator at Stam Security for over 15 years and truly loved her career. She also worked at Anders Gems and Minerals Jewelry Company early in her career. She was a P.T.A. member and a Girl and Boy Scout Den Mother for many years while her children were young.

In her free time Dorothy enjoyed all the time she had with her family; she also enjoyed cooking, travel, arts and crafts, making jewelry, writing recipes, solving puzzles. She really liked watching detective shows. Dorothy adored Christmas season the most, the lights, family time, and all the magic surrounding it.

Her family and friends will always remember Dorothy as a sweet and caring person, who would give the shirt off her back if someone needed it.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ferrell E. Anders Sr.; parents, Essie Ellen and Henry Patrick Horne; brothers, Wylie Horne and Mike Horne; sister, Hazel Anderson; nephews, Lee Allen Horne, Mark Anderson, and Danny Horne; along with several sister and brothers-in-law.

Left to cherish her memory her daughter, Christy Gail Wood; son, Ferrell Eugene Anders Jr. and wife Sandy; grandsons, Brock Allen Cole and Kaleb Cannon O’Neil; granddaughter, Molly Paige Wood; goddaughter, Sabrina Ausmus; great- granddaughter, Miley Wood; great-grandson, Samuel Cole; sisters, Mickey Christine Denton and Patsy Gail Jones; along with many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
