

Elsie was born July 21, 1926 in Fort Worth, TX. She graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth, then traveled to Washington D.C. and did administrative work to support the war efforts. She returned to TX, married William A. “Dub” Lucas, Jr on January 4, 1947. She was a homemaker and they raised four children. Elsie enjoyed gardening, growing and arranging flowers, RVing and traveling the world with Dub and family. She was a strong, smart, independent woman, who was loved dearly by her family, and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her loving Husband, William A. “Dub” Lucas in June, 2001; Parents, Victoria and Cecil Nelson, Sr; Sisters: Billie Smith (David), Ann Mills (Jay), Linda Levick (Alvy); Brother, Cecil “Buddy” Nelson, Jr. (Dorrie); Sister-in-Law, Mary Helen Evans (David); Son-in-Law, Daryl Hargrave; Granddaughter, Summer Hargrave; Great Grandson, Brody Bittick; and Nieces: Barbara Jeanne Graham; Nancy Graham White.
Elsie is survived by: Son, David Lucas, Wife, Connie; Daughters: Mary Ann Baker, Husband, Kenneth; Susan Hargrave; and Pat Ruff. She is also survived by Grandchildren: Lisa Rzepniewski (Jason), Matthew Lucas (Tori), Michael Lucas (Melissa), Cathy Bittick (Bill), Laura Kozelsky, Ashley Alexander (Kevin). Great Grandchildren: Lauren Rzepniewski, Katie Rzepniewski, Breanne Bittick, Brooks Bittick, Eleanor Lucas, Everett Lucas, Benjamin Kozelsky, Elliana Kozelsky, Caitlyn Lucas, Carly Lucas, Orion Bellanca, Aksel Alexander, Wren “Birdie” Alexander. Nephews: Mike Levick (Michelle), Mike Mills (Robyn), Bob Mills (Irene), Larry McAfee, Gary Evans. Nieces: Faith Chandler, Deb Johns (Bob).
The family would like to thank Concho Hearts Hospice for their medical and compassionate care they provided to our mother, since March 2024.
