George Leonard Grimes

George Leonard Grimes, 88, left this earthly home on September 11, 2023 from Dallas, Texas. He was born July 30, 1935 in Colbert, Oklahoma to James Hiram and Alice Mayo Grimes. George was raised in Colbert where he attended and graduated from Achille High School in 1953. He married the love of his life Anita Krodel in 1956 and they were blessed with 66 years of marriage and had 3 wonderful children together. He went to work for McKesson Drug Company from 1953-1980, George then went Texas Drug/ HB Smith Drug Company in Ft. worth as operations manager where he stayed until he retired at the age of 79 in 2014. In his free time George enjoyed traveling with family, going to gospel concerts and meeting friends for a meal. He loved his family and church family of Trinity Baptist Church of Arlington that he has been a member of since 1986. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, good natured Christian man and always ready to hear a joke.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Anita Krodel Grimes; daughter, Donna Sue Grimes; granddaughter, Ashley Ann Grimes; parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

A visitation for George will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, 2212 N Davis Dr, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 2:15 PM to 2:30 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
