

Granville Tyrone Grant was born to the late Leonard Grant and the late Jane Stewart on September 13th, 1948, in Smithfield in the district of Savanna-La-Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica. He passed away on Thursday, January 30th, 2025, in Fort Worth, TX after an extended illness. His easy smile, infectious laugh, and teasing personality are forever imprinted on our hearts.
Granville was an industrial engineer by profession, earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin Stout. He made significant contributions in the areas of safety in number organizations in Jamaica such as Kaiser Bauxite Company, PetroJam, Jamaica Broilers, Jamaica Public Service, and many others. He also was self-employed with GT Consulting where he shared his expertise as a consultant and through providing safety training and programs. He relocated to Texas in 2019. He continued to work full-time at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Grand Prairie, TX, until he became ill in September 2024.
His blended family consists of his wife, Mitzie; Children: daughter, Sherry-Ann Agbabiaka, and husband, Olugbenga; son, Damian Grant; and son, Leighton Grant, and wife, Jennifer. Stepchildren: Anteeno Williams, Dushane Williams, Francine Dailey, and Nathan Thomas. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Darren, Deborah, Ajoke, Marleigh, Corban, and Cyrus. He is also survived by his siblings Errol Grant, Yvonne Grant, Pamela Grant, and Kay Grant, and several nieces and nephews.
