Henry was born to parents Delmont (Henry Sr) and Beatrice Duewall Chism on May 15, 1940 in Wichita Falls, TX. He grew up as the big brother to sisters Barbara (long married to his best friend George Leigh) and Ruthanne Broome and graduated from Technical High School in Ft Worth and attended Arlington State College. He loved airplanes, cars, tractors, guns and steam trains. At 22, he earned his pilot’s license and was racing cars by 26. He married Barbara Hutchins and had three daughters. Claire and husband Anthony Escamilla with grandchildren Jacob and Sarah. Davinia and husband Jason Rizzo, with step grandchildren Tim and his wife Callie, and Katie. Laura and husband Rick Hullum with grandchildren Derrick Gastinger and wife Kate and great-grandson Grant, Colleen Hardy, and step grandchildren Kayla and husband Drew Davis and great-grandson Tye, and Holli Hullum.
He lived in Mansfield, TX from 1969 – 2005 in the historic Ralph S. Man homestead, now the City of Mansfield Heritage Museum, where he owned and operated a sand and gravel business. He was also a talented welder creating beautiful things such as a porch swing and gate for the family home. He lived there for most of his life before retiring and spending time with family. Throughout his life, he exhibited unfailing devotion to his family. He was, unknowingly, a positive role model in many lives. Henry accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2018 and is in heaven today.
