Ida Kathleen Wallis

Ida Kathleen Wallis of Mansfield, Texas was reunited in Heaven with her daughter Rachael and mother Charolette on October 23, 2021. Kathleen was born on January 15, 1973 in DeQueen, Arkansas, to Charolette Nelson Norris and Johnny Norris. She was married to Danny J. Wallis on December 29, 1995 in Paris, Texas. They had three wonderful children, Sarah, Rachael and David.

She was a passionate supporter of education, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas A&M- Commerce, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas- Arlington. She had a heart for service and assisted families as a nursing home social worker for sixteen years. In 2015, she decided to pursue a career in education as a special education teacher and earned her special education teaching certification. She brought courage and compassion to everyone she helped. Most recently she was a member of the Truman Family at Truman Middle School where she served as a special education teacher.

Kathleen loved spending time with her family, including countless hours at Six Flags over Texas with David, and shopping and attending The Nutcracker with Sarah. She also enjoyed spending time in nature and walks on the beach with her husband Danny. Sometimes she even hopped on the back of his motorcycle for evening rides. She loved the color pink, flamingos, and Simply Southern T-shirts.

Kathleen was a devoted follower of Christ and attended Rush Creek Church- Green Oaks campus in Arlington, Texas. She enjoyed volunteering with Sarah every year at the church’s Shreek on the Creek community event and lived life with her life group.

She was preceded in Heaven by her daughter Rachael, her mother Charolette, and her beloved Teresa. She is Survived by her husband Danny, her daughter Sarah, her son David, her father Johnny Norris, her sister Wynona Keeley, and her brother John Norris.

A visitation for Ida will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Rush Creek Church - Green Oaks Campus, 2350 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76017. A committal service will occur Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
