Jennings was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Branchland, W.Va., to Arthur and Barbara Harless. He grew up in Huntington, W.Va., and enlisted in the Army Air Corps in March 1943. He served as a radio operator and a waist gunner on B-24 bombers and flew 25 combat missions flying out of RAF Shipdam, England, during World War II. After the war, he became a sales manager with Pittsburgh Plate Glass and then Philco Ford until his retirement in 1986.
Jennings married the love of his life, Betty Jane Conway, in Tampa, Fla., in September 1943. Through the years he and Betty enjoyed dancing, ping pong, board games and card games, but most especially golf. An excellent golfer, he served on the board for the Rolling Hills Golf Course for many years and was made a lifetime member for his countless hours of service.
Survivors: Wife of 69 years, Betty Harless; daughter, Beth Aarni and husband, Mike; son, Garry Harless and wife, Charmaine; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
