

1937 in Bells,TX, as the youngest of six children, to Virgil and Amber Jernigan.
Jerry and wife Ruby were married 49 years and raised three daughters in Grand Prairie, TX
where he was a member and deacon of Inglewood Baptist Church. He retired from Menasco
Aerospace after 40 years of service and moved to Midlothian,TX and became a member of
Hillcrest Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, TX where he served on the house and grounds committee.
He faithfully served using his skills of building, welding and project management. He is a third
generation Mason of 54 years and a 39th degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Jerry was a sweet loving and beloved Husband, Father, Papaw and Great Papaw. He selflessly
put the needs of others before himself and would always help a friend or family member in
need. He loved family, the outdoors, fishing, and especially camping & hunting in Colorado.
Pastimes included NFL football, western movies and Gunsmoke.
Preceded in death by his wife Sue Johnson Jernigan (widowed), Ruby Robinson Jernigan
(widowed), son in law Jimmy McDaniel, grandson Jason McDaniel and 5 brothers and sisters.
Survived by daughters Sheri McDaniel of Springtown, TX, Rhonda McGwier, Midlothian, TX and
Rena’ and husband Tim Walker of Midlothian,TX. Grandchildren: Brett McDaniel, Jeremy and
wife Jackie McDaniel, Hayden and wife Kristy Killebrew, and granddaughter Chloe Killebrew.
Great Grandchildren: Connor McDaniel, Cameron McDaniel, Landyn McDaniel, Parker
McDaniel. Numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Jerry will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1219 N Davis Dr, Arlington, TX 76012.
