Joan Davis

Joan Davis, a beloved and cherished resident of Arlington, Texas, passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on July 1, 1934, Joan was known for her compassionate, loyal, patient, kind-hearted, generous, inspirational, and selfless nature.

Joan grew up in Pendleton, TX, where she attended and graduated from the local high school. She started her career as a phone operator for Southwestern Bell and worked her way up to be a supervisor, retiring after more than 45 years of dedicated service.

In 1951, Joan married Dink Davis, and they enjoyed 36 wonderful years together before his passing. Joan was a devoted aunt and adored her niece Kimbo with all she had and Kimbo's daughter Railey Hunter.

In her personal life, Joan enjoyed playing poker and chicken foot, with her true passion being reading. She could often be found with a book in hand during her free time. Additionally, she enjoyed gardening and bowling.

Joan was actively involved in her community, volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She was a fun-loving, caring person, always ready to help those in need. Her smile could light up a room, and she was known for her playful pranks and jokes. Joan often said that her husband left her with enough happiness for a lifetime, and her family continues to carry the undying love she left with them.

She is survived by the apple of her eye great niece, Kimberly Brumfield, niece, Railey Hunter, her sisters Mary Ingram, Jan Thompson, Carla Conover and her brother Mike Thompson, along with many Nieces and Nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dink Davis, her parents George and Mattie Lee. Sister Georgia Sparks and brother Don Thompson.

A funeral service will be held at Moore Funeral Home, located at 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX, on February 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The committal will follow at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1219 N Davis Dr, Arlington, TX, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Joan's legacy of kindness and love will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
