John Andrew Calaci passed away on August 6, 2012 at age 83 in Bedford, Texas. He was born in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the US Army on the Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands during the Korean War and went to college at the University of Detroit.
He worked at Ling Temco Vought Aerospace in Michigan and in Grand Prairie, Texas. He retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a fine baritone voice and sang in several church choirs.
He was preceded in death by his wife Katy (Mary Kathleen Hadlock) Calaci and his brother Dominic Calaci. Survivors are his sister Tomasina Gueli and his brother Mario Calaci and sisters in- law Jane Calaci and Ann Calaci of Long Island, New York, his daughters: Dena Gavito, Gian Calaci, Lisa Calaci, and Jean Calaci, sons in-law Eddie Gavito and John Bennett, and grandchildren Adam, Chandler, Kianna, Madeleine, Muriel and Tyler.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Bedford, Texas. Rosary: 7:00p.m. Sunday at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Bedford, Texas.
