John Andrew Edwards

John Andrew Edwards was born on Friday, October 26, 1945 to John H. Edwards Jr. and Rosemary Samsot in New Orleans, Louisiana. John passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the age of 80, He was a resident of Arlington, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents John H. Jr and Rosemary Edwards. His nephew Matthew Edwards and beloved dog Holliday.

He grew up in New Orleans, LA attending St Rita elementary school and a graduate of Jesuit High School class of 1963. Too know him was to love him; he had a larger-than-life personality. He cared deeply for his family and friends. He was known for his strong work ethics, generosity, and many lectures to his children.

He moved to Texas in 1977, and he retired in 2016 after working in the meat industry for over 45 years. He found joy in Nascar, cars in general, hunting, shoes, football, especially the Green Bay Packers. John and his oldest son Thomas traveled to Green Bay several years ago to fulfill his lifetime dream of seeing the Packers play at Lambeau Field. He was active in his church, giving back to his community, and charities near and dear to his heart.

He married the love of his life, Linda Chandler, in New Orleans 52 years ago in 1973. Together they raised 3 children and eventually moved to Arlington, TX in December of 1981.

John is survived by his wife Linda, his son Thomas, Daughter in law Erika and beloved grandson Jack. His daughter Claire, his son David, brother Ralph, numerous cousins, and his beloved Aunt Dorothy.

A prayer service will be held at Moore Funeral Home 1219 N. Davis Dr. Arlington, TX 76012 on Tuesday, February 10,2026 at 11am. Followed by interment at Moore Funeral Home. Followed by a Celebration of Life at J. Gilligans 400 E. Abram Arlington, Tx 76010

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to St. Judes Hospital.
