Joe and his wife Pat moved to Pantego in 1965, where Joe joined the then Volunteer Fire Department. In 1982 Joe became full time acting Fire Chief. He later became the Building Inspector. He loved his family, fishing, and he loved volunteer work at the Pantego Lions Club.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Gwendolyn Gilmore, Edith Muncy and Joyce Henson. He is survived by his beloved wife Pat Knowles of 63 years, daughters Kim Knowles and Teri Knowles Lide (Jeff), and granddaughters Jordan Rollins (Justin), Carlye Lide, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Moore Funeral Home. An interment will occur at Wilson Chapel Cemetery, Kaufman, Texas at 2:00pm.
