I met Mama Joyce almost twenty years ago after moving to Texas and being away from my family for the first time in my life, and my sweet sister, Cynde, introduced me to her parents. Mama Joyce and Daddy Ed loved me like I was their daughter from the very beginning. Thank you, Mom, for taking me into your heart and loving me so well. My heart is sad, knowing you are not here in the body with us. But I am thankful for the promises found in God’s word that assures us that we will be with Him.

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (2 Corinthians 5:1)

Dad, Cynde, Kenny, and family, I love you all, and I am praying for you. Thank you for sharing Mama Joyce with me.

Joyce was my older sister. She was my role model and I loved her dearly. The last couple of years I know have been very difficult for her, but I still loved to visit her and would love to see her smile when we would remember some of the good old days from our childhood together in Pleasanton, Kansas. I know that now she is in a place where she is no longer in the terrible pain that she experienced every day. Love you, Joyce. Rest well, Kris is there to greet you and I will see you on the other side.
