

After graduating high school, she joined the military where she served as a baker in the Air Force.
She married Edward McCloskey on February 21, 1953 and spent most of her married life working as a homemaker and raising her eight children. When her children were grown, she went to Vernon College and received an Associate Degree in Business. She also worked as a baker at a junior high school in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Katherine enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, and quilting. She was a huge fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers, along with the TV show NCIS (she had a very large crush on Mark Harmon!). She also enjoyed reading (Stephen King and Dean Koontz) and doing crossword puzzles (in ink!).
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, and son, Bill. She is survived by her children: Mary Vasquez and her husband, Jesse, of Bedford, Texas; Pat Tyler and her husband, Vince Julian, of Pittsburg, Texas; Vickey Hons and her husband, Ron, of Arlington, Texas; Cile Grady of Arlington, Texas; Susie Anderson and her husband, Raymond, of Minco, Oklahoma; Edward McCloskey II and his wife, Janeen, of Burkburnett, Texas; and Karen McCloskey of Los Angeles, California; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
