

Services for Kevin Douglas Blackwell, 49, of Grand Prairie, passed away, Wednesday, January 14th, 2015. A visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 pm, Sunday, January 18, at Moore Funeral Home North Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, January 19th at Moore Funeral Home North Chapel. As were his wishes, he will be cremated. Kevin was born September 16, 1965 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Douglas “Terry” Blackwell and Joanne Blackwell Hammack. He grew up in Grand Prairie and graduated Grand Prairie High School in 1984. After graduation, he attended Stephen F. Austin University and later studied at South Western Baptist Theological Seminary School. He had a great passion and love for his Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ. He married Carrie Ann Logan, July 17, 1993. He loved his family and his greatest joys in life were his children, fishing, Barbequing and making his award winning salsa, “Blackwell’s Texas Lava”. He especially loved being outdoors and enjoyed nature. Kevin was an active member of Green Peace and fought to save Dolphins in their natural habitat. He worked 17 years for Coors and won numerous awards including several national awards and prizes for his creative display designs. Kevin was preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Blackwell, grandparents, Boyd and Doris Blackwell, Marvin and Marcella Hutcheson and Aunt, Gayle Todd.He is survived by his wife Carrie Ann Blackwell of Aubrey, son, Blake Logan Blackwell and daughter, Maegan Ryan Blackwell.
