Linda Jan Shaw

Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Linda was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, and was the loving daughter of Robert and Jean Higgins.

Linda had a passion for making crafts, drawing, sewing and spending time sitting on her porch enjoying nature. There was never a stranger who passed without a friendly hello. She enjoyed talking with her neighbors, but especially liked spoiling all the puppies with treats. She was outgoing and friendly, and was a diehard Chicago Bear fan. Every game was a celebration and she would break out her game jersey and cheer for "Her Bears."

Linda was a true example of a loving and caring person. She would always find a way to lend a hand or to make others happy. She lived her life with compassion and her strength is an inspiration to us all.

The family would like to express a most sincere thank-you to her caregiver, Edith Henderson, for the love, friendship and care that she has extended to Linda Jan Shaw the last several years. Edith and Linda shared a special bond, and we are forever grateful for the love she showed to our mother.

Survivors: Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lori Keating and husband, Kevin, of Arlington and Tracy Shaw of Bolingbrook, Ill.; granddaughter, Arica Shaw; sister, Vicki Lamneck of Miami, Fla.; brother, Robin Higgins of Landisville, Pa.; sister-in-law, Vikki Higgins of Landisville, Pa.; many nieces and nephews; and her extended family, Tony and Paulette Mechura, Kelly and Mitchell Harris, Kevin Mechura, Keith and Sherri Keating, Shelley Heflin, and Regina and Isaac Ramos.
