Martha Latham

Martha J. Latham, age 86, of Arlington, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Martha was born Martha Beulah Jones on November 13, 1935 to Elsworth and Beulah Jones in Matador, Texas. She graduated from Matador High School in 1954 where she excelled in academics and played basketball, tennis, volleyball, softball, and participated in track and field for her school. Later in life, Martha attended UTA for a few semesters.

Martha met her husband Monroe Latham from Paducah, Texas and married in Fort Worth, Texas on June 5, 1954. They were married for 67 years. Martha is survived by her husband Monroe Latham of Arlington, Texas, her children Marietta Cobb and husband, Doug, of Galveston, Texas; Marquita Nelson and husband Scott, of Arlington, Texas, Matt Latham and wife Barbara, of North Richland Hills, Texas, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Loren Jones.

Martha worked various administrative jobs throughout her career, but retired from Arlington Independent School District in 1992. She was a long-time member of Lamar Baptist Church, and an active church volunteer serving as the Activity Director for several years in the Senior Adult Ministry planning activities, events and visiting home-bound members.

A visitation for Martha will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
