

Marvin Leon Roberson, 88, went to be with the Lord, peacefully and surrounded by family on April 17, 2025, in Azle, Texas. Born on June 10, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas, Marvin lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
A proud Texan through and through, Marvin built a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication. He was the owner of Roberson Furniture Frame Manufacturing and later contributed his skills to Radio Shack by building cabinets. His work reflected his meticulous nature and commitment to quality—traits that earned him respect among peers and clients alike.
Marvin served his country honorably in the Air Force Reserves, embodying a spirit of service that extended into every aspect of his life. He was also a proud and long-time member of the Deer Creek Masonic Lodge, where he found camaraderie and purpose among fellow members.
Faith played a central role in Marvin’s life. A long-time member of Worth Baptist Church in Fort Worth, he held a deep love for Christ that guided his actions and relationships. His devotion to his church community was unwavering and served as a cornerstone of his identity.
Marvin was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Sumpter) Roberson and a devoted father and stepfather. His family was central to his life, and he took great pride in the bonds he shared with each of them. He is lovingly remembered by his brother Donald W. Roberson; daughters Sheryll D. (Roberson) Martinez and her husband Ron Martinez; Jana D. (Roberson) Gillihan and her husband Terry Gillihan; and stepchildren Desiray C. (Strickland) Foster and her husband DeWayne Foster; Presha J. Strickland; Truitt L. Strickland; Preilla E. (Strickland) Atwood; and Gregory D. Strickland. Marvin’s legacy continues through his 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, each one a testament to the love and guidance he offered throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Roberson; his sister Marian F. (Roberson) Miller; his daughter Christina R. (Roberson) Byerly; and his great-granddaughter Lindsey Byerly.
Outside of work and family life, Marvin found joy in the outdoors—he loved hunting, golfing, and fishing. These hobbies brought him peace and connection with nature, offering cherished moments of reflection throughout the years.
A funeral service honoring Marvin’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, located at 1219 N Davis Dr., Arlington, Texas 76012. Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Marvin Leon Roberson will be remembered for his steadfast faith, enduring love for family, skilled craftsmanship, outgoing personality and his amazing laugh. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
