

Peggy Rawley Gambrell died peacefully on December 1, 2013 at her home in Arlington, Texas. Born in Palestine, Texas, September 17, 1922, she moved to Dallas in third grade to attend University Park Elementary School. Peggy graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas before attending Baylor University. She had a joyful spirit, loved God, and strived to live life to the fullest. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who desired nothing more than to spend time with her family, travel and play bridge. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lucile Rawley,Sr.; two husbands, Edwin W. Foster;(killed in WWII) and Roderick D.Gambrell,Jr.; two daughters, Josephine and Caroline Gambrell; a grandson, Scott Gambrell; and her brother Walter Rawley, Jr. She is survived by her five children: Ed Gambrell and wife,Virginia, of Horsehoe Bay; Martha Cummings of Arlington; Susan Griffin and husband, Joe, of the USA; Karen Olson husband, Terry, of McMinnville, OR; and Nancy Latona and husband, Jay, of Medford, OR; her seven beloved grandchildren: Eric Gambrell, Todd Gambrell, Christin Davis, Chase Cummings,Jason Shaw, Colin Shaw, and Lindsay Rebholz. Her precious great-grandchildren include: Elanor, Luke and Sarah Rose Gambrell; Nathan and Alexander Gambrell; Josephine Davis; Markley and Rawley Shaw; and Sam and Emeline Shaw. There will be a Rosary at 9:30 am and a Memorial Mass at 10:00 am Thursday December 5, 2013 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church at 9:30 AM, 1200 Davis St., Arlington, TX 76012. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church for the new Padre Pio House.
