Randy was born in Covington, Kentucky on September 10, 1949. Just before starting school, his family moved to Arlington, Texas. He graduated from Arlington High School and later attended the University of North Texas where he earned both a bachelor's and a master"s degree in Music Education.
He shared his great love of music with all his students, colleagues, family and friends not only professionally for 49 years, but throughout his life. After retirement, Randy composed music and wrote pieces that were premiered by both choral and instrumental ensembles. As a member of First Methodist Church, Arlington, he loved singing in the choir.
At NTSU, Randy met and married Pam Wilbourn and was a faithful and loving husband, father and provider during their 53+ years together. He always brought laughter and fun to his family. Randy was such a positive role model for not only his children, but for all who came in contact with him.
He will be so greatly missed.
