Funeral – A celebration of Ray’s life will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. Reception will follow.
Memorials – In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort Worth Zoo.
Ray was born August 4, 1931 in Tyler, TX to Taylor C. and Pearl Buckingham. He joined the Army in 1951 and served in Korea. In 1955, he married Virginia Sue Cain and graduated from North Texas State College. After moving to Arlington in 1964, Ray became active in the Arlington Jaycees and served as President ’66-’67. Ray worked for 40 years in the oil and gas industry. After retiring, he worked at the Fort Worth Zoo for 17 years.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ginny; brothers, TC and Bob; and sister, Jean.
Survivors: Son, Chris (April Hill); daughter, Alison Keithley (Mike); grandchildren, Leila Lewis (Mike), Schuyler Keithley (Bryce), Austen Keithley, Ryan Keithley, and Michael Buckingham; great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Rylee, Dominic, Audrey, and Dylan Lewis.
