Richard Lockstedt, age 73, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Richard was a hard-working, beloved, and cherished man whose life was marked by devotion to family and a steady, comforting presence. He resided in Arlington, Texas.
Raised in West Texas and Arlington, Texas, Richard graduated from Arlington High School in 1971.
Richard dedicated more than 25 years of service to National Cash Register, where he worked as a printing press operator. His commitment and work ethic were evident to all who knew him.
In 1991, Richard married Suzanne Banister. Together, they built a loving home and welcomed two children. After 35 years of marriage, Suzanne remained the center of Richard’s world, and his pride in his family was unmistakable.
Richard enjoyed the outdoors and horses, and he also found simple pleasure in playing pool and cheering on the Texas Rangers and the Texas Longhorns. Above all, time with family and friends was his favorite—especially time spent with his grandson, Kyle.
Richard will be remembered as kind and easy going, with a happy-go-lucky spirit and an ever-present smile. His presence brought comfort and joy to those around him, and he had a way of making people feel welcomed. A very devoted family man, Richard leaves a legacy of warmth, steadiness, and love.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes Lockstedt.
Left to cherish Richard’s memory is his beloved wife of 35 years, Suzanne Lockstedt; son, Aaron Lockstedt; daughter, Marissa Lockstedt; grandson, Kyle; siblings, Janet, JoAnne, Susie, and John; along with many more treasured family and friends.
