Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 2701 Harwood Road, Bedford, with visitation at 10 a.m.

Rita was a proud member of the Amazing Grace group at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband, Bud Merritt.
Survivors: Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Diane, Ellen, Christine and Betsy, and their loving husbands; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
