Stephen Taylor, Sr.

There will be a visitation on January 7, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Stephen D. Taylor, Sr, 67, of Mansfield, passed away December 29, 2022. He was born in Louisville, KY on August 28, 1955. Stephen graduated from Dupont Manual High School where he was a star running back on the football team known for his explosive speed and power.

Stephen worked and retired from the United States Postal Service after serving 30+ years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing pinochle with family, loved animals, and was a fan of anything involving sports. This held especially true as he was a lifelong Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Johnson, his granddaughter, Makenna Johnson, his son, Stephen D. Taylor, Jr. and his brother, Phillip Taylor Sr. Also dear to him was his aunt, Evelyn Sweeney, and her sons, Darrell, Rick, and Gregory. He is preceded in death by his mother Tylene Woosley and his cousin Timothy Sweeney.

Burial will take place on 1.14.2023 in at Rabbit Flat Cemetery in Caneyville, KY.
