Sterling Francis Workman

Sterling was born January 23, 1919 to Vernon and Odie Goodwin. She was a graduate of Arlington High School and North Texas State College. She worked for the Arlington Independent School District as a physical education teacher and coach for over 30 years. She married Mayfield Workman July 25, 1942. They had three children and 67 years of marriage. They were active members of FUMC Arlington where they raised their children, served on numerous committees and taught children's Sunday school. Her positive, loving attitude, bright smile, big hugs and kisses will always be remembered and a continued blessing to us all.

Sterling was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Rebecca King, Virginia Hollinsworth, Beverly Buckman, brother John Goodwin and son in law Bryant Copeland.

She is survived by son Rusty Workman and wife Margaret, daughters Pam Copeland and Pat Shelton and husband Kim. Grandchildren Chris and Michelle Workman, Allison and Brandon Weaver, Jennifer and Jason Andrews, Amy and Lane Hayes, Sarah Shelton, Kate and Codi Wasion. Great grandchildren Jake and Dane Workman, Mayfield, Taylor and Copeland Hayes and Alex Andrews. Brothers Vernon Goodwin, Jim Goodwin and Don Goodwin.
