Mother, Grandmother, “Tiny” passed away peacefully early Monday morning at the age of 87 years. Born in Sudan, Texas, she lived in several small west Texas towns before settling and living most of her life in Arlington, Texas.
Mom was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Arthur (A.C.) Moore and William (Dub) Henslee; two brothers, Johnny and Jake; and five sisters, Bert, Dorothy, Opal, Izetta, and Francis.
She is survived by her four children, Travis (Rusty) Moore and wife Cheryl, Tom Moore and wife Patsy, Linda Royal and husband Bob, Jimmy Moore and wife Amanda; and one sister, Fay Lock.
She was a loving Grandmother to Randy, Lance, Brenda, Christi, Michelle, William, Lori, Bobi Jo, Charlie, Jessica, Jeremy, and Justin; and Great Grandmother to 24 Great Grandchildren.
Mom loved to sing with A.C., and they would sometimes sing on the radio at a local station in west Texas. A trip to Grandmother’s house always included fun, hugs, and what seemed like an endless supply of honey buns, cupcakes, SpaghettiOs, Vienna sausages, and corn dogs.
You would often find Mother in the yard, either mowing or working in her rose garden. It didn’t matter the temperature or time of day- you would tell her it was too hot to be outside, that she should work in the cooler parts of the day, and her reply would be, “I have my hat on.”
She will be deeply missed, but her time with us left a lasting impact on anyone that knew her. As she would always do, anytime you parted ways with her - waving I love you in sign language with both hands.
