On Tuesday, November 17, 2020 the Lord called home his child, Thomas Beaudion. He was born on January 25, 1970 at 5:05pm to Sam and Areather Beaudion of Natchitoches, Louisiana. At an early age he attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Shreveport LA and later attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Duncanville, TX. Thomas is an honorary member of the Independent Men’s Social Club.
He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1992 earning a bachelor’s degree. He moved from Shreveport, LA to the Dallas area in 1997 serving over 25 years with the Dallas Cowboys where he became an admired leader in management. Thomas was honored to serve as a Floor Supervisor and continuing to do so at AT&T Stadium with a combined tenure of over 25 years, where he oversaw Hall of Fame South and the Owners Club. In chorus, Thomas also served over 20+ years at Progressive Insurance as a Claims Adjuster.
Thomas leaves to mourn and treasure his precious memories to his wife, Tara; one Son, Devon; his parents, Sam and Areather Beaudion; mother-in law, Marva Jones; siblings: Christopher (Yvonne), Areather (Barry), Lisa (Undra) and Sam Jr (Sarah); sister in law, Frankie Suzanne Jones; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Dorian, Morriah, Josiah, Madison, Daylin, Demetrius; nieces and nephews, Rhonda, Chaka, Kristin, Christopher II, Ja’Shaud, Chayse, Ja’Lisa, Sam III, Alexandria, Anthony, Mauro, Hector, and Alex; godchildren, Kristin, Naomi, Kennedy and Trevion; and a host of many friends and family.
Thomas met the love of his life, Tara Jones, in college while attending Louisiana State University in 1990. They married on July 20, 1996 and this year celebrated 24 wonderful years together. To their union, one child, Devon, completed their family. Thomas and Tara shared many loves together but their love for animals topped the list. Their first love was a golden retriever named, Trinity. She brought countless hours of joy and laughter to their life. Trinity would become to be the daughter to Thomas that he did not have in the human life. Years later, Thomas and Tara would find their next love for animals in the form of a horse, Honey. And to their surprise a few weeks after buying Honey another animal child blessed their lives, because unbeknownst to anyone (including the seller) Honey was expecting a foal. They fittingly named her Our Little Secret.
Thomas had a joy for hunting. He killed his first deer, hunting with his oldest brother, Chris. Joy grew to passionate love for the sport when he did it with his Dad. Hunting together with his Dad gave them both a time to talk, laugh and share many secrets that only a father and son could share. In October (deer season), they would begin making plans to sit for hours in a deer stand, hoping to snag a 10-point buck. Hunting became their perfect bonding time. Thomas enjoyed grilling and playing “chef” at home. He learned how to cook gumbo, mustard greens, his famous “egg gravy” and potato gravy from his Mom. Together on the phone she would lovingly explain each step, each detail, types of seasonings for many of her famous family recipes. They had a beautiful relationship; made of deep devotion and love. Thomas loved his Mom, and she provided the perfect loving environment he needed on any occasion or time of the day.
Thomas never met a stranger. Whether he met you at the grocery store, or at the convenience store buying his daily “pick 3” he would always spark a conversation. Thomas would talk for hours and never know he had been placed on “mute” because most often he would circle back to his original statement. At family gatherings he would somehow assume the role of “DJ” and that meant a mix of 80’s R&B love songs mixed in with a little zydeco and country music. Thomas entered a house or room and immediately his magnetic energy heightened conversations, as if a lightning rod struck your heart and was released in the form of laughter. You had no choice but to allow that burst of energy into your soul. Precious memories he lovingly shared with everyone.
