

Tommy Joe Walker, also known as T.J., age 78, passed away on September 2, 2025, in Stephenville, Texas. He was born on June 1, 1947, in Lubbock, Texas, to Loyd and Alice Walker. T.J. was raised in Austin and Midland, Texas, as well as in Montana and Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1972 with a degree in veterinary medicine.
In 1969, he married the love of his life, Linda Joyce Martin. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children. T.J. dedicated over 49 years of his life to caring for animals as a veterinarian at the Animal Clinic of Arlington, where he was deeply respected by clients and colleagues alike.
Beyond his career, T.J. found joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, and working the land on his property in Stephenville. A dedicated Scoutmaster, he mentored countless young men through the Boy Scouts, instilling in them values of leadership, service, and integrity.
He will be remembered by all who knew him as a healer, teacher, mentor, comedian, brother, father, and loyal friend.
T.J. was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd E. and Alice Walker, and his beloved son, Brandon Walker.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Walker; daughter, Jamie Walker; son, Kolby Walker and his wife, Jacqueline; grandsons, Carter and Samuel Walker; brother, Forrest Walker; sister, Nancy Engle; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the animals he cared for, and the stories that will continue to be shared with love and laughter.
A reception will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at North Davis Church of Christ, 1601 North Davis Drive Arlington, TX 76012.
A Memorial Service for Tommy will be on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 10:30 AM at North Davis Church of Christ, 1601 North Davis Drive Arlington, TX 76012.
