

William “Buddy” Wachter, everyone’s “favorite buddy” graduated from Fort Worth Poly High School and worked for several local companies: Swift and Armor, Menasco and Vought Aerospace. He proudly served in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean War, receiving several medals, including the Korean Service Medal and UN Service Medal. His life skills and a degree included Draftsman, Engineer, Machinist, Mason, Tool Designer and to the end, he was a stand-up guy. His family and friends, his employers and everyone that met him benefitted from his kindheartedness.
His hobbies included wood working projects; creating and donating crosses and restoring the doors at St. Maria Goretti Church. He rode a bike all his life and could fix most anything. He and his wife really enjoyed going to flea markets and cooking. They won ribbons for their culinary skills most times they entered at the State Fair.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; children, Wendy Berg, LeAnn Ware, Clive Wachter; grandchildren, Natalie Berg Miller, Olivia Berg, Matt Ware, Allison Hicks, John Ware and Whitney Haak; great grandchildren, Jack Ware, Ellis Hicks, Candance, Cyrlee and Alithia Haak; siblings, Fred Wachter, Elizabeth Davis, Robbie Alridge, Augusta Newman and Pat Robinson and adopted son, Richard Hankins and two daughters
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76013.
