Kathleen was born on November 25, 1951 in Ashland, Ohio. She was the daughter of Paul and Betty (Baki) Chorpening. She attended the Ashland public schools and graduated in 1970. She was in the girls Glee Club and for 3 years a member of the May Fiesta production. She attended Malone and Ashland College. She had several serious surgeries which somewhat impaired her, but never thwarted her zest and desire to live a full and productive life. She was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church, sang in the choir and attended the summer camp programs. She was blessed to travel extensively and see most of the United States. Her favorite music icons were Barry Manilow and the Beetles, both of whose concerts she attended. She enjoyed bingo and playing games and cards with family. She was a sports fan, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. Her work experience included assorted tasks at her father’s law office and running errands to the Courthouse and banks. She was employed at several jobs with the National Latex Products Company and had retired after 28 years there. She was always grateful to God for his grace in her life and in time of need.
Kathleen is survived by her brother, Steve (Rosemary) Chorpening of Ashland; and will be greatly missed by many friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She will be laid to rest in Ashland Cemetery. Wappner Funeral Directors-Ashland is honored to serve the Chorpening family.
