A familiar landmark on Claremont Avenue

The historic house at the corner of Claremont and Quarry has long been part of the Ashland community. It’s also where Kevin, his wife, Christy, and their children make their home.

Years ago, it was common for funeral directors to live at funeral homes, so they could always be available when families needed them. Kevin carries on that tradition today, blending family and service in a way that feels familiar and comforting to people in our small town.

An Ohio native, Kevin spent his college years marching with the Ohio State University Marching Band. After graduating from Ohio State University in 2009, he continued his studies at Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. That’s also where he met Christy, who would later become his wife.

From school events to community gatherings, the Harters share in the rhythm of daily life in the Ashland community. They are grateful to be part of a place that feels like family—and honored to provide funeral and cremation services to their friends and neighbors.
