I'm Nancy Hooper. I met Betsy at a law firm we both worked for and became one of a four member movie going group. We went every Tuesday after work and on most weekends. Betsy was a great friend, I loved her and miss her a great deal. 

This picture was taken in 1967 at Betsy's apartment on Boylston St. in the Fenway section of Boston.  Betsy was a friend from our days at UMass-Amherst in the mid 1960s.  The last time that we saw each other was while I was stationed with the Navy on Oahu in Hawaii and she was making a visit there.  I picked her up in Honolulu and we took a ride thru Kole Kole Pass and almost got in trouble for accidentally stumbling into a Marine base.  Betsy was a good kid and I am sad that she is gone.

I have such wonderful memories of our years of sisters weekends.  We started with Christmas shopping on the first weekend in November but had such fun we added the first weekend in June too. Nancy and I  started shopping in Kittery and then again with Betsy over each weekend, enjoying Freeport and the Portland/Westbrook area.  Betsy also took us hiking on many trails and parks along the Portland coast and sometimes we got house and garden tour tickets. Betsy always enjoyed theater productions and she would get us tickets to see many plays put on by small theater groups. Betsy was very thoughtful and so appreciative of all that was done for her during her many medical issues. Love and miss you,  Betsy ❤

Betsy was my younger sister by 2-1/2 years, number two of what became a family of five children.  We shared a bedroom, and I remember many a Saturday morning when Mom would shout up the stairs that we needed to get up and get to our chores.  We were both wide awake with our noses in books---avid readers always.  As well as her love of reading, she was an amazing cook, rarely following a recipe.  The first time I had her barbequed ribs, I asked for the recipe; and she literally had to guess the quantity of all the ingredients.  She guessed right, and I made those ribs for years, always getting compliments from guests.  Her health failed in the last few years, and she is now in a better, happier place.  Gone from our lives but never forgotten.

Great memories of Aunt Betsy with B.J. at our grandparents house in Dedham. Aunt Betsy was always smiling, laughing and just joyful person. She never let me forget we shared the same birthday! You are gone but not forgotten and will always remain in my thoughts, Keith Hibbard 

My heart tumbled the moment I learned of Betsy’s death.  I knew Betsy through her work in the accounting office at Bernstein Shur where she spent the last twenty years of her career.  I’m proud that it was my decision to hire Betsy.  She was a dedicated worker, a wonderful team member, and, most important, a lady. Her even-tempered nature was extremely valuable as she interacted with a variety of attorneys and staff members either by phone, email, or unexpected visits to her desk, every single day.  Betsy was always helpful, willing to listen, took things in stride, and was well liked by everyone.  She was proud of her family and I remember anticipating and celebrating the birth of her granddaughter. Betsy’s pretty blue eyes and smile and her nice sense of humor were the key to her charm.  She was just lovely.

I had the pleasure of working with Betsy for many years. I remember her love of movies and reading. And she was very happy when it was time to retire. I know she loved her son very much and all of her family. Betsy may you rest in peace and be in the warm and loving arms of heaven.  Janet Davis
