

Tampa FL. Clyde B. Hodgkins, 76, died at Tampa General Hospital on Tuesday, February 9. Born May 1, 1933 in Lewiston, a son of Stanley D. and Florence (Odiorne) Hodgkins. Educated at Patten School in Greene, John Cone School in Topsham, Edward Little High School in Auburn (Class of 1951) and University of Maine at Orono (Class of 1955). Clyde then joined the U.S. Navy as a Seabee, serving in the Pacific area from 1956 - 1957. After the war, he worked for the James W. Sewall Co. in Old Town, ME until 1960.
He married Jacqueline Lapointe of Chelsea, ME on August 19, 1967. Clyde was self employed as a land surveyor and forestor, president of Auburn Metal Buildings Co., Inc., and past president of the Pine Tree Chapter of Metal Buildings Dealers Association. He was a past president of the Twin County Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Maine, and past president and charter member of the Androscoggin Chapter Maine Society of Land Surveyors. Clyde was also a past president of St. Francis Mission Council, past secretary of the Town of Greene Planning Board, past president of the Greene Valley Cemetery Association, and a member of the St. Francis Mission in Greene.
Survivors include his wife Jacqueline of Winthrop, a son Joseph and his wife Danielle of Auburn, ME, a daughter Lynne and her husband Brian of Madison, WI, a brother David of Turner, ME and a sister Shirley Feinman of Mesa, AZ. Clyde also is survived by 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
At Clyde's request there will be no visitation. Services will occur later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clyde's memory to the Volunteer fire department in Greene, ME.
