He was born in Fort Kent, ME on January 3, 1962, to Carl and Marie Morrow. He grew up in Grand Isle with his brothers and sisters; William, Paul, Lise and Nicole and was proud of his French heritage carrying his given nickname, Loutte.
He attended Van Buren schools and graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. While at school, he met his future wife, Nancy (Bailey) Morrow. They were married in July 1986 and started their family in Auburn, having two sons, Eric and Scott. After a long employment at UNUM Provident, Dan left in 2012 to pursue his passion for music.
Dan was known for his unbridled talent, mastering a variety of instruments including the piano, clarinet, baritone sax, vocals, and his beloved tenor sax. His keen ear allowed him to effortlessly traverse genres such as blues, jazz, funk, and salsa rock. He cherished the joy of creating and performing with his two bands, Slygo Road and El Malo. Anyone fortunate enough to listen to or collaborate with him could feel his deep love for sharing the magic of music.
Dan was happiest being surrounded by his family and friends, especially his grandsons Whelan and Kailand, whose laughter brought him tremendous joy. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome with an open heart, while his faith gave him a zeal for the love of life and nature. He was most at ease floating in the water, gliding on the snow in skis, witnessing the foliage in fall and running outside. His love of running led him to be a legacy runner in the Beach to Beacon Road Race.
He will be dearly missed by those he left behind including his beloved wife, Nancy, sons Eric and his wife, Cassandra of Mechanic Falls and Scott of Litchfield; grandsons Whelan and Kailand of Mechanic Falls; brother Paul Morrow, sisters, Lise Williams and Nicole Piche, along with beloved family members and friends.
Daniel was predeceased by his brother Bill, mother, Marie and father, Carl.
