

AUBURN – Gerald L. Turcotte, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice with his wife & family by his side. He was born in Lewiston on January 26, 1937, the son of the late Lucien and Henrietta (Boisvert) Turcotte. Gerald lived in Lewiston/Auburn his entire life and was a parishioner of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish regularly attending Mass at Sacred Heart Church. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1955. On August 16, 1958 he married the love of his life, Patricia (Fuller), and they shared a loving marriage of 58 years. He joined the Army Reserves 76th Division and stayed for 23 years. He worked as an auto parts salesman for the Motor Supply Company & for the Lewiston Public Works in the auto parts department for the last 16 years prior to his retirement. Gerald had many passions including, going to fairs, horses, camping, visiting Bar Harbor and he often shared these times with his children & grandchildren. His grandchildren called him, “Coach Pepe” because he chauffeured them to & attended their sporting events. He was known to have a very contagious smile, and was well known all around town. Family was his number one priority. He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Lisa (Turcotte) Gwarjanski and her husband Stephen Gwarjanski; his son, Stephen and his wife Jacqueline Turcotte; his sister, Francine deGuzman; his brother, Lawrence Turcotte; his four grandchildren, Heather, Kimberly, Andrew and Amanda; his three great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Miles and Reid. He was predeceased by his parents. The family would like to thank the staff over at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for their care and support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn at 11 am. A committal service will follow the Mass at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
