She was born in Lewiston on May 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Lucien & Yvonne (Lebel) Ouellette. She grew up in Lewiston, attending local area schools and graduated from St. Dominic’s High School in 1957.
Jeannette and Maurice were married in 1960 and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary two weeks ago.
She spent the majority of her employment with St. Johnsbury Trucking Company as a billing clerk.
Jeannette loved spending time with family and friends and was always the life of the party. She had a way of making people feel great about themselves, and everyone enjoyed being in her company. She loved spending summers by the pool while hosting get-togethers with her cherished friends and family. She was very active in retirement. With her cousins, she traveled everywhere from Europe to California, and several places in between. Another trait of Jeannette was her sense of humor. She was always quick-witted, enjoying a good back and forth banter with anyone and everyone. Sitting around the kitchen table, she reveled in reminiscing about the good times, both past and present. Jeannette also TREASURED her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, and when they weren’t around, she beamed about them to others with a great sense of pride.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three children: Diane Y. Silverman and her husband Michael of Bellingham, MA. Scott M. Guay and his wife Celeste of Westford, MA. And Steven M. Guay and his wife Joy of East Longmeadow, MA. Jeannette was the beloved grandmother to six grandchildren: Connor, Reese, Mathieu, Alexandre, Collin and Christine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian mass on Wednesday, September 27 at the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul on 122 Ash Street in Lewiston, ME at 11 am. Burial will follow at St Peter’s Cemetery of Lewiston.
