

She was born in New Gloucester, April 1, 1918 the daughter of the late Ernest A. and Effie E. Edwards Dunlap. She was educated in local schools and was married June 20, 1935 to Dwight L. Tripp, Sr. who predeceased her January 31, 1979. Marion was employed at Cummings Cleaners in Auburn and later at Lincoln Department Store in Lewiston. She then operated a day care in her home for many years.
She was a member of Danville Union Church where she taught Sunday school and was a junior choir director for many years. She was also a member of the New Auburn Senior Citizens and the New Gloucester Senior Citizens and the Danville Grange where she recently received her 50 year membership certificate. She enjoyed beano, Hollywood Slots, her daily crossword puzzle and traveling with her brother and sister in law, Clark and Margaret Dunlap and her companion Francis Steele. She especially enjoyed family gatherings at Christmas and Thanksgiving and her camp at Bear Pond. In her younger years she was a Scout leader with Girl Scouts and Brownies.
She is survived by a daughter, Edith Berry and husband Edwin "Ned" of Hope and a son, Dwight L. "Pete" Tripp, Jr. and wife Jane of Harrison; three granddaughters, Linda Cookson and husband Kimble, Cheryl Caron and husband Jim and Henrietta Hines and husband Richard; also 11 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and her companion W. Francis Steele of Auburn.
She was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Jennifer Cookson and a brother, Clark Dunlap.

Visitation at Fortin/Auburn on Thursday from 6-8 PM. Funeral Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by burial at Upper Gloucester Cemetery.
