

Muriel Jane Cormier went to be with her precious Lord and Savior on July 13, 2011 at the Hospice House on Stetson Road in Auburn. She was born in Carthage May 15, 1918 a daughter of the late Lydia Phinney Knox. Muriel was raised by her grandmother, Matilda Ranger. She attended school in Hale, Maine. Muriel married Ele J. Cormier Sr December 25, 1936 in Mexico. Maine. Ele Sr passed away in June of 2008. They were happily married for 71 1/2 years.
Ele and Muriel were charter members of the Dixfield Nazarene Church in which they were very active in many activities and stations for over 50 years. They also were members of the Auburn Nazarene Church in which they also served in many capacities.
Muriel had various hobbies including knitting, crocheting, writing letters, sending various cards and doing word search puzzles. She had resided at Bolster Heights Residential Care Facility of Auburn since August of 2007. Prior to that she and her husband Ele, resided on Minot Ave. in Auburn.
Muriel is survived by her children: Ele Cormier Jr and his wife Dolores of Minot, Joyce Oliverio and husband Joseph of Salem, NH; and Dale Cormier and his wife Cathy of Conroe, Texas; two sisters: Evangeline Jackson of Carthage, and Geraldine Virgin and her husband Stan of Mexico, Maine; 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great grandchildren, 3 step-great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family wishes to thank Androscoggin Hospice House of Auburn for all their tender care in her last moments. Also to the many staff members at Bolster Heights who made her transition from her home to the assisted care life easy and comfortable. Muriel was a friend to all and loved everyone.

Cormier, Muriel Jane, 93, went to be with her precious Lord and Savior on July 13, 2011 at the Hospice House on Stetson Road in Auburn. Visitation will be held from 2-3 pm Tuesday July 19, at the Auburn Church of the Nazarene 38 Summer St Auburn, where a funeral service with be held 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Turner St. Auburn. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Androscoggin Hospice House 236 Stetson Rd.
