

Lewiston- Raymond A. Mercier 55, of Central Ave. Lewiston died Saturday July 12, at Central Maine Medical Center. He was born in Lewiston on November 26, 1958, a son of the late Alphonse and Rose (Laprise) Mercier. He was educated in local schools and then went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army. Ray worked for many years at Seltzer and Rydholm until his health no longer allowed him to work. He enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, cooking, grilling, and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He was a handy man especially when it came to carpentry and would help anyone in need. He leaves his four daughters: Jessica Charest and husband Glenn of Lewiston, Heather Gosselin and husband Michael Michaud of Sabattus, Virginia Fobler and husband Christian of Germany and Sarah Danse and husband Tim of Lewiston, his fiancé Linda Saucier of Lewiston, three sisters Madleine Poulin and husband Marc of Lewiston, Lucille Woodland and husband Denis of FL, and Denise Poulin and husband Marcel of Lewiston, a brother Marcel Mercier and wife Therese of Monmouth, his nine grandchildren: Brandon, Kira, Dylan, Justin, Evan, Preston, Kinsley, Tim and Samara, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Lorette Pelletier and her husband Roland.
