

Roger E. Clements, 73, of Auburn passed away February 22, 2011 following a brief illness at St. Mary's Hospital with his two daughters by his side. During his two week stay in the intensive care unit, his family was always there with love,support, and encouragement. He was born in Auburn March 31, 1937 the son of the late Raymond and Rosalie (Mallett) Clements. On August 23, 1958 he married Constance A. Moore and they remained happily married until her passing on March 19, 1996. He served in the National Guards from 1955 to 1961. He worked as a firefighter for Poland Springs Job Corps Center and retired after 25 years of service as a Fire Fighter for the State of Maine (Pineland Center) in December of 1994. After his retirement he worked for United Wheelchair Service and was employed there up until his illness. Roger was a member of the Pastime Club as well as the American Legion Post #153 in New Auburn. Roger had many friends and some of his memorable times were spent smelting with Tommy, having a few beers Bruce, Tommy, and his other Pastime and Legion buddies. He was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan. He enjoyed his Friday night card games with Ellie, Sheila and Larry. Most of all Roger enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his only grandson, Ryan because they shared many interests, particularly firefighting and sports. He is survived by his two daughters: Sandra Demers and her husband Rick of Auburn, Susan Clements-Dallaire and her husband Julien of Lewiston; his companion Ellie Morin of Auburn; his grandchildren: Shannon Daigle of Greene, Ryan Demers, Erica Dallaire of Auburn and Crissy Dallaire of Sabattus; his great grandchildren, Maizy, Maddox, Landon, Reese, Ashlyn, and Taylor; his sister Delores Burgess of FL; and many nieces and nephews. Roger was predeceased by his wife Constance Clements; his siblings Jeannette Wilbanks and Shirley Clements. A special thank you to some of Roger's angel's at St. Mary's Hospital; Torey, Sophia, Kelly, and Rose for taking such wonderful care of "Roger-the-Great".
