Rosemarie E. Sands

Rosemarie was born on March 27, 1936, a daughter to Edna and Emile Cyr. She born in Van Buren and attended Lewiston schools, graduating at 17 years old.

She met the love of her life, John Sands while at a dance at the Le Montagnard in Lewiston. They were married in 1959.

In her working years, Rosemarie spent time working for Hoods Dairy, the State of Maine in Augusta and Harriman Associates. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and loved being "Gram". She loved doing puzzles, various crafts, and enjoyed reading.

Rosemarie is predeceased by her parents, her loving husband John, her brothers Leland and Rocky Cyr and sister-in-law Geraldine Cyr.

She leaves behind her children Gregory Sands and wife Kim, Brenda Whiting and husband Mark and Patrick Sands and wife Pennie. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Shawn and Sara, as well as a great granddaughter Charli. She also leaves behind her brothers Ronald Cyr, Reno Cyr and wife Claire, brother Normand and wife Maryse and sister-in-law Connie Cyr. Lastly, many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Margaret at Androscoggin Hospice and Home Health.

A visitation for Rosemarie will be held at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Auburn on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by an in house Liturgy of the Word. A Committal Service will be held at a later date.
